Human ?IVIachine In terface (HMI) has a lot of features such as operation simplicity, convenient interaction, agile control, screen designed by con figuration software ? Nowadays HMI system platform is gradually tran sferred from in dustrial pers onal computer (IPC) to embedded system ? Control systems and devices are becoming more and more complicated and diversified, and the competition is becoming more and more drastic. The developm ent of tech no logy and dema nd of market n eed new gen erati on embedded HMI system which is featured with friendly graphic in terface, full ?fu ncti onal con figuration, and str ong communication ability. After some key concepts about networked control system, embedded system and HMI being introduced, the structure and function of embedded HMI are analyzed in depth, the design and development method is also discussed? Based on the result of analysis, a system model including development environment and runtime environment is bring forward and discussed in detail? In the development environment model, the design and impleme ntation method of rec on figuration software is the main topic; in the run time en vironme nt model, the content con tains scree n in terpreter, communication scheduler and implementation of GUI. Especially to the communication features of HMI, a reconfiguration communication model is bring forward and analyzed?
