Ss can listen, say and understand the following words: friendly, kind, funny, young and old. Ss can listen and choose the right pictures of Let’s try. Ss can listen, read and understand the dialogue of Let’s talk. Ss can ask and answer about their teachers’ characters. Emphasis and difficult points: Ss can act out the dialogue and try to recite it.. Ss can use the target language well. Teaching aids: PPT, some pictures, some cards, tape, recorder Steps Suggestions Step 1 Warm-up and revision Enjoy a song: “Who is your teacher?” Let’s chant. Tall, tall, he is tall. Short,short, she is short.--- Guessing game. Show a pictrue with two fruit trees and let the students know the fruits are different. They are magic fruits. They will change into different letters. Help the students to know four letters will show our different words. His name is Wu Yifan. He is 10 years old. He is a student. He has a new friend. His friend is friendly. Teach “Oliver” in the same way. Let’s try. Show a picture of Mr Young is playing the piano. Wu Yifan and Oliver are talking. Wu Yifan: Do you know Mr. Young? Oliver: No. I don’t. Who is he ? Wu Yifan: He is our music teacher. Ss practice in pair. Wu Yifan: Do you know Mr. Young?
