Motivation: Newly code mention that increasing concrete cover thickness or adding stirrups can add the bounding strength of steel to concrete. Whereas adding stirrups around the lap splice length is not considered necessary. Purpose: Placing stirrups around the tension lap splice length can add the ductility of reinforced concrete beam. Characteristic: Investigating is proceeded by preforming the test of RC beam to the heterogeneity of reinforced concrete. Principle: Analyzing the behavior of structural element by testing the real-size RC beam with the complexity in mechanics due to the heterogeneity of materials. Equipment: Universal testing machine, Data logger, Load cell. Conclusion: Performing the ductility of flextural RC beam with stirrups around the lap splice length is necessary.
