Target language
The music was strangely beautiful, but under the beauty I sensed a strong sadness and pain.
The piece had a simple name, Erquan Yingyue (Moon Reflected on Second Spring), but it was one of the most moving pieces of music that I’ve ever heard.
The music was written by Abing, a folk musician who was born in the city of Wuxi in 1893.
Abing’s amazing musical skills made him very popular during his lifetime.
Ability objects
(1)Understand the passage about Abing and his music Erquan Yingyue.
(2)Master the reading skill, scanning, to find out the supporting details.
(3)Be able to express opinions through supporting details.
3.Moral objects
Whenever we meet difficulties, we should smile to them.

2. Free talk.
Step 2. Pre-reading
1. Watch a video about Abing’s music Erquan Yingyue to get the title of the passage.
2. Learn the new words in groups by themselves to prepare for reading.
Step 3. While-reading
1. Read the passage quickly and match each paragraph with its main idea.
2. Know what supporting details are and how important they are in one passage.
3. Know the reading skill, scanning, and apply the skill to finish
