Teaching procedures:
Step 1 Warming up
T: Look at the picture. What is it made of?
S1: It is made of paper.
T: Quite right. Then what is the pencil made of?
S2: It is made of wood.
T: Yes. So we can see different things are usually made of different materials.
Look at the pictures and practice the conversation.(ppt)
Step 2 Presentation (1a)
Get the students to look at the things in 1a and ask “What are these things usually made of”? And match them with the materials.
Step 3 Listening (1b)
1. Listen for the general idea of 1b.
The general idea of the conversation is about _______.
A. what the things are made of and where they were made
B. what the things are made of
C. where the things were made of

2. Listen for the specific ideas of 1b.
Listen and match the products with what they are made of and where they were made.
Step 4 Pair-work (1c)
1. Ask the students to practice the conversation in 1a. Then make conversations using the information in 1b.e.g.
A: …looks nice. Is it made of…?
B: Yes, and it was made in…
2. Check their work with several pairs.
Step 5 Presentation
T: Have you ever been to a science museum?
S1: Yes, I have.
T: What did you see in the museum?
S1: I saw some model planes, pictures and many other things.
T: Have you ever been to an art and science fair?
S2: No, I havent.
T: Its a pity. I hope one day you can go there to see interesting things. Nick and Marcus went somewhere to see some interesting things.
