I .Teaching aims:
1、knowledge objects:
Words:cross, leave, dream, village, villager, bridge, boat, afraid, ropeway, river, true.
Phrases: between...and, go on a ropeway, cross the river, come true,be afraid to do sth.
2、Ability objects:
Be able to get useful information from the reading material;Learn some reading skills:fast reading and careful reading.3、Ability objects:
Learn about how poor area students get to school and cherish our studying condition and know we should work hard at school.

1、Grasp new words and phrases.

T: How do you get to school? How do they go to school? So it’s easy for us to get to school. 1 How does he/she get to school?
T: How do they get to school? 设计意图: 展示不同的交通方式让学生了解班上同学是采用何种交通方式上学的,既复习巩固本单元的句型, 又为 2b 的学习打好基础,做好铺垫。
Step 2: Pre-reading Crossing the river to school go on a ropeway.
Look at the picture and title below. Guess what the passage is about?

设计意图:检测预习效果;如何把握文章的中心思想。
Then show them the picture of there is a river between a river and a school.
So, it’s different for them to cross the river. The river is very big. And the water runs too quickly for boats. There is no bridge between their school and the village.

Are you afraid of taking a ropeway?
Liangliang is one 11-year-old boy. He is not afraid to cross the river on a ropeway. To have a bridge is their dream. Can this dream come true?__________________________________
