Plate girder, T-girder, composite box girder, integra-l type box girder w ith standard span w hich w ere commonly used in China w ere taken as sample bridges, and the vehicle loads from different countriesp codes w ere applied on these sample bridges to obtain the bending moment at mid-span and shearing force in the end of the simply- supported beam, then these effects w ere compared w ith each other so as to locate the position of vehicle load effect in China. T he study results show that the effect of highw ay bridge caused by the vehicle load in current Chinese code has a medium level among those codes in above. The methods and conclusions
