文化交流1 　　In this part you will read about what one American teen thinks about school life.　　School can be fun, and exciting but it can also be terrible, and scary. The average school day is not dissimilar to a minefield, where you have to watch your every step. I still feel like I constantly need to watch what I say, how I dress, and who I talk to in order to prevent everyone laughing at me, or thinking Im an idiot, or making fun of me. Some of the other kids get teased so much its hard to imagine. The guys like to act tough to impress each other and to stay in the in crowd. The girls on the other hand seem to spend most of their time exchanging gossip and seem to switch friends at the drop of a hat. One day, things are great. The next day, youre just a nobody. Is it like that for you? Its like that for me.　　Another thing, probably the biggest kept secret of all: teachers arent always nice, right, or fair. Youve got to believe me on this, theyre not always smiley and chatty and encouraging to me. Some do seem to really love teaching, and actually care about their students. But some of the others, well, I dont even know why theyre there. They obviously hate it.
