* Many companies rely on the Internet for competitive advantage Website: Companies design and set up a website from which they can communicate with their customers. One of the biggest advantages is that the website can replace a physical store location. For example, A is a great example of an on-line entity with no physical store locations. Advertising: Companies can advertise for a very low cost, because their websites can effectively provide much information to their customers. For example, A provides very personal information (name, book preferences, personal order history) to customers that visit their website. This personalized type of communication can be very effective. Sales: Many businesses take and process orders on-line. The ability to conduct sales over the Internet can bring cost and time advantages to firms. For example, A fulfills orders on-line and makes it easy and fast for customers to order goods. This brings advantages over firms with only physical locations because it allows customers to shop on-line from any location. Expenses: Websites cost money and incur expenses. For example, there are costs to develop the website, install the shopping cart system, screen credit card payments, host the site on a server, and, perhaps, marketing expenses to increase its visibility to potential customers. * After the entrepreneur assess markets and consider competitive advantages, they may decide to create a business. They will then need to develop a business plan. Business Plan: A detailed description of the proposed business, including a description of the product or service, the types of customers it would attract, the competition, and the facilities needed fro production. For example, the business plan forces the entrepreneur to think through the details of how they intend to run the business. The typical business plan includes the following four sections: 1) Environments 2) Management 3) Marketing 4) Financial Each section will be cover
