Extraction on natural pigment and its physiological functions

Abstract:T he ext racting and puri ying technologies on nat ural pig ments were int roduced .T he charac-
teristics o every kind o prog ress such as solvent ex traction, supercritical CO2 ext raction,microw ave
radiation ext ract ion,enzy mat ic ext raction, adso rbent separation t echnology and membrane separat ion
technology w ere discussed .T he stabilization technologies o natural pigments w ere int roduced based on
its characteristics o lability .T he phy siological unctions o some natural pigment s w ere reviewed, some
natural pigment s such as caro tenoid, xanthophy lls, lavano nes and ant hocyanin w ere int roduced on an -
tio xidant activities,antibacterial activities and health protect ion .It showed wide application prospect to
exploit unct ional natural pigments.
