We should have a face to face discussion about our proposal with the client. If changes to the proposal are requested, we must reassess the job arrangements and the risk management action plan. The specific objectives of this phase are to: Provide a common approach with our client to starting an engagement, Confirm our understanding of the client’s expectations, and Implement an organization structure (AA and client) to effectively and efficiently manage the engagement. Role of the Engagement Partner and Manager The engagement partner and manager should review the proposal for services in person with the potential client. We should cover each point, at a sufficient level, in the proposal to reach a common understanding. Changes from what we proposed to what we eventually agree must be reflected in a revised proposal or in our arrangement letter with the client. The engagement partner and manager must take the time to see that our agreed upon arrangements reflect the results of these conversations. Role of the Engagement Quality Assurance Partner The Engagement QA Partner should review the accepted arrangements if there have been significant changes to the proposal.
