Active Reading 1 The Pickle Jar

1.掌握: The usage of some useful words expressions, some grammar points and some structures
from the passage.
2.熟悉: The expression of f amily affairs; some skills for reading and some writing skills about
description.
3. 了解: The skill of using figurative language; family values and concepts
教学容(包括基本容、重点、难点) :
1.基本容: Part I Starting point
Part II Active Reading 1 The Pickle Jar
Students should grasp the text content, useful words and expressions, learn to use the
skill of using figurative language. Then do the exercises followed.
Part III Writing Task — How to introduce a concession
2.重点: a. Key words: define, determination, significant, fund, stack, jingle, tone, perseverance …
b. Phrases Expressions: see to, lay off, hold back, lecture on …
c. The features of a descriptive essay
3.难点: Developing the ability of understanding the meaning of a metaphor, improving the ability of
prediction.
