Background Beiji ng opera is con sidered as a n ati onal treasure in China, and has a history dati ng back more tha n 200 years .In the 55th year of the reig n of Emperor Qia nlong of the Qing Dyn asty (1790), the four big Huiba n opera Troupes en tered the capital. Gradually they comb ined with the Kunqu Opera, Yiya ng Opera, Hanju Opera and Lua ntan, which were part of Beijing s thearetical circle of the time.
