To find out information needed quickly and correctly. Difficult points To grasp the learning strategies of reading comprehension. To improve the communicative and cooperative abilities Analyses of the text material It’s the second period of Unit 7 and the main subject is to deal with reading comprehension of the text. The major idea of the text material is the process of two children of Bird World discovered aliens from the Earth. There are some new words which are hard for the students to pronounce correctly in this unit, such as mention, explore, spaceship, damage, frightened, creature and so on, but the contents of the text is not so hard to understand. Guided properly, the students can finish all the questions neatly. Analyses of the students Two thirds of the students used to be very poor in English study. Not only did they know little about English, but also they had no interest in it at all. After three terms’ English learning, most of them have become more and more interested in this subject and they are eager to take part in activities during the class. However, because of their poor basic knowledge of English, it is not easy for them to follow the teacher and get effective achievements. They have the enthusiasm but they are lack of abilities, so they need more encouragement and support. For this class, they have learned the new words in the first period. Maybe most of
