* The Comparative and Superlative Degrees of Adjectives Adverbs 形容词、副词的比较级和最高级 一、构成： 1、单音节的形容词和副词的比较级和最高级在词尾加er和est: tall --- taller --- tallest fast --- faster --- fastest 以e结尾的词只加r和st: nice --- nicer ---nicest 以重读闭音节结尾而词尾只有一个辅音字母的词，先双写词尾的辅音字母再加er, est: big --- bigger --- biggest 2、双音节的形容词分两种情况： 以er,y或ly结尾的加er和est，注意y前是辅音字母的词要先把y改为i： clever --- cleverer --- cleverest heavy --- heavier --- heaviest 以ful结尾的词在原级前面加more和most: careful --- more careful --- most careful 双音节的副词除了early外，其它都是在原级前面加more和most: quickly --- more quickly --- most quickly early --- earlier --- earliest 3、三个音节以上的形容词和副词都是在原级前面加more和most： important --more important --most important carefully --- more carefully ---most carefully 4、不规则变化： good\well --- better --- best bad\badly\ill --- worse --- worst little --- less --- least many\much --- more --- most far --- farther --- farthest 二、用法： 1、句型“比较级+than ”用于一方超过另一方： 1) He is taller than I. 2) He runs faster than you. 2、比较级可以被much, far, even, still, a lot, a little, a bit等修饰： 1) He is much taller than I. 2) Lesson Three is a little more difficult than Lesson two. 3) Lesson Three is more important than Lesson Two. 3、句型“the+最高级+ in\of”用于表示三个或三个以上的人或事物中，某一个超过其它几个： 1) This is the oldest cinema in Guangzhou. 2) He is the tallest of all the boys. 3) Lesson Three is the most important of the three lessons. 4) He runs fastest of all the boys. 5) Meimei works most carefully in her class. （副词最高级前面的the往往省略。） 4、句型“as+原级+as” 表示双方程度相等，即“像……一样”。 1) He is as tall as I am. 2) He studies as well as I do. 句型“not so(as)+原级+as” 表示双方程度不相等，即“不如……那样”。 1) I’m not so(as) old as you. 2) She does not study so well as I do. 5、表示逐渐增长用“比较级+and+比较级 ”: 1) The weather is getting colder and colder. 2) Our city becomes more and more beautiful. 6、表示平衡增长用“the+比较级，the+比较级”: 1) The more, the better. 2) The harder you work, the better result you will get. *
