Methods A total of 46 patients receiving craniocerebral operation were divided by admission order into hemocoagulase group and control group， with 23 cases in each group. The hemocoagulase group received conventional craniocerebral operation and 2U hemocoagulase agkistrodon for injection by intravenous injection in preoperative 30 min and postoperative 1 d. The control group received same operation and hemocoagulase dose during operation， without hemocoagulase agkistrodon injection before operation. Observation was made on intraoperative hemorrhage and postoperative 24 h drainage volume in both groups. Results The hemocoagulase group had obviously less intraoperative bleeding volume as （plusmn;）ml and postoperative 24 h drainage volume as （plusmn;）ml than （plusmn;） and （plusmn;）ml in the control group （P）. Conclusion Preoperative intravenous injection of hemocoagulase agkistrodon can reduce incidence of postoperative complications through decreased bleeding volume.
