1.Ask some questions about giant pandas
How much did Xi Wang weigh at birth?
When did she start to go outside for the first time?
What do giant pandas live on?
What problems do they have in the wild?
What action can we take to protect them?
Check some new words and useful expressions
Step2 Presentation
1.Show a picture of a giant panda and say: The bamboo forests are becoming smaller and smaller. What do you think what will happen to pandas? (They may have no place to live or food to eat.) We should take action to protect them. If we do nothing, what will happen to them? (They may die. There may be none left some day.)
2.Write the students’ answers on the Bb and tell them that we can use may to say that something is possible.
