九、比较状语从句 3. 倍数关系 (6)more than在名词前意为“不仅,不止是”, no more than在名词前意为“仅仅是,只不过是”,如: He is more than a scientist. 他不只是一个科学家。 Hibernation is more than sleep. 冬眠不仅仅是睡觉。 She is much more than a friend to me. 对我来说,她不仅仅是个朋友。 He is no more than a gambler. 他只不过是个赌徒。 九、比较状语从句 3. 倍数关系 (7)more than用于形容词或副词前,意指“非常,十分,十二分地……”,如: She is more than careful in doing everything. 她做任何事情都十分地认真。 They are more than willing to help you. 他们非常乐意帮你。 You are always more than welcome at my house. 我随时都十分欢迎你来我们家。 九、比较状语从句 3. 倍数关系 (8)more than之后的比较状语从句中常用can,表示“超出……能力范围“,此时,从句谓语必须是及物动词,且与主句主语逻辑上是动宾关系,如: The beauty of this place is more than I can describe. 此地景色之美是我无法描述的。 These sorrows are more than flesh and blood can bear. 这些伤痛是血肉之躯所难以承受的。 The cost of this project is more than they can afford. 这个工程的成本是他们根本无法承担的。 十、状语从句的简化及省略 状语从句同时具备下列两个条件①主句和从句主语一致,或从句主语为it;②从句谓语部分含有be动词,此时从句中的主语和be动词常可以省略,如: When (the museum is) completed, the museum will be open to the public next year. He will go to the seaside for his holiday if (it is) possible. 1. 状语从句主语是it,且谓语动词是be时,it和be可完全省略,如: If (it is) necessary, we will help you out of the difficulty. You must attend the meeting unless (it is) inconvenient to you. 十、状语从句的简化及省略 状语从句同时具备下列两个条件①主句和从句主语一致,或从句主语为it;②从句谓语部分含有be动词,此时从句中的主语和be动词常可以省略,如: When (the museum is) completed, the museum will be open to the public next year. He will go to the seaside for his holiday if (it is) possible. 2. 当状语从句的主语和主句的主语一致时,且状语从句主语后有be动词,此时,从句可以将主语和be动词省略,具体有以下几种情况,如: As (he was) young, he learned how to ride a bike. Whenever (she is) free, she often goes shopping. Work hard when (you are) young, or you will regret. 十、状语从句的简化及省略 状语从句同时具备下列两个条件①主句和从句主语一致,或从句主语为it;②从句谓语部分含有be动词,此时从句中的主语和be动词常可以省略,如: While (she was) walking along the river bank, she saw a very strange animal.
