The serum NO level was positively correlated with the plasma ET level (P＜0.01).The plasma ET level of different TCM syndromes decreased according to the following sequence： the control group， the deficiency syndrome of spleen and kidney-Qi， the deficiency syndrome of both -Qi and Yin， the deficiency syndrome of liver and kidney-Yin， the deficiency syndrome of spleen and kidney-Yang， the deficiency syndrome of both Yin and Yang； while the serum NO level increased according to the following sequence： the deficiency syndrome of spleen and kidney-Yang， the deficiency syndrome of both Yin and Yang ， the deficiency syndrome of liver and kidney-Yin， the deficiency syndrome of both Qi and Yin， the deficiency syndrome of spleen and kidney-Qi， the control group.Conclusion The plasma ET and serum NO may have relatio with the occurrence and development of chronic renal failur
