Methods: 94 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus with nonalcoholic fatty liver disease were randomly pided into control group and experimental group， 47 cases in each group. The control group received oral metformin 0.5g twice daily; the test group received morning oral administration of sitagliptin 0.1g once a day. Both groups continued to take the drug for 4 months. The clinical efficacy， iulin resistance index (HOMA-IR)， islet β-cell function (HOMA-β)， blood glucose and liver function were compared between the two groups， and the advee drug reactio in the two groups were observed. RESULTS: After treatment， the total effective rates of the experimental group and the control group were 82.98% and 61.70%， respectively， and the difference was statistically significant (P0.05). The HOMA-IR of the experimental group and the control group were 1.06±0.08 and 1.13±0.11， respectively， and HOMA-β was 85.70±10.07 and 65.83±7.20， respectively， and the difference was statistically significant (P0.05). Conclusion: Sitagliptin combined with metformin is superior to metformin alone in patients with type 2
