整体设计思路
These two reading materials are about Jane’s traveling diaries which novel but a little difficult for Ss from Grade 8 who contact less. At the beginning of the class, T will arouse Ss’ interest by placing an uncompleted letter. Then T will lead Ss to learn several related words, then with several reading tasks, T will guide Ss to read the diaries and understand the context. And then with two practice tasks. By the end of the class, Ss will be able to finish the letter.

3. know how write a letter about vacation
4. recite the two diaries of Jane’s

2. T shows an uncompleted letter and ask Ss whether they can help with finish.
Talk about their vacations in group.
By talking the topic before class, Ss can have a compare with what T teach.
T’s asking for help can motivate Ss’ learning interests.
Pre-reading
T lead Ss to learn several words related to the text.
Learn the new words and guess the topic from them.
This help Ss learn some words that may be difficult for them thus help with their following reading.
While-reading
Group work:
1. Have Ss read the diaries with questions and then answer.
2. Have Ss finish the dialogue and role play it.
3. Have Ss complete the letter blanks according to the picture hints.
4. show the completed letter to Ss and guide them to learn the structure
