Unit 4 How’s the weather today Lesson 20 (教学设计)人教精通版英语四年级上册
教学目标
能够正确使用句型“How’s the weather today?”和相应的天气词汇。
能够描述自己所处的天气状况。
能够理解并模仿老师、同学所说的天气状况。
发扬团队合作精神,积极参与小组活动。
教学准备
磁带或CD。
天气图片及单词卡片。
小组活动所需材料:4张图片、4张彩色卡纸、胶水、黑色笔。
教学过程
Step 1 Warm-up
Greet the students and ask them some questions, such as “How are you today?”, “What day is today?” and “What’s the date today?”.
Review the weather words by holding up the weather pictures and asking the students to say the words.
Step 2 Presentation
Ask the students “How’s the weather today?” and elicit responses from them.
Introduce new weather words such as “windy” and “cloudy” by showing the corresponding pictures and repeating the words several times.
Play the audio of the new weather words and ask students to repeat after it.
Model a conversation with one student, asking “How’s the weather today?” and responding with different weather expressions.
Step 3 Practice
Have students work in pairs and ask each other about the weather. Let them use the new weather expressions they have learned.
Conduct a class survey, where students will ask their classmates about the weather by saying “How’s the weather today?” and recording their responses.
Step 4 Production
Divide the class into groups of four.
Give each group four different pictures that represent different kinds of weather. For example, one group may receive a picture of a sunny day, another group may receive a picture of a rainy day, etc.
Have each group work together to make a simple poster using the pictures and write down the corresponding weather expressions. Encourage them to be creative and use different colors and shapes.
Have each group present their posters to the class.
Step 5 Closure
Recap the new weather words learned in this lesson.
Assign homework, which will encourage students to observe the weather every day and record it in their journals.
