Ask students to read the report and find out what animals are endangered . Ask students to talk about why the animals are endangered.
(killed by the enemies in the nature, not enough food, not enough place to live in, the living environment is worse and worse, hunted by human beings, eaten by people… )
Step Ⅲ. Reading – How Daisy Learned to Protect Wildlife
Fast- reading. Read the story quickly and find out the answers to the questions below: (1). Which places did Daisy go to? Who took her there?
(Tibet, Zimbabwe, rain forest. A flying carpet.) (2). Find out the main idea of the passage ( C )
It is bout some protection of wildlife.
It is about a journey of a flying carpet.
It is about Daisy’s wonderful experience with some animals.
Careful-reading. Read each paragraph carefully and try to answer the questions below.
Paragraph 1:
Who did Daisy talk to in Tibet? (Tibetan antelopes) How did the antelope feel? ( Sad).
Why? ( Because people are hunting and killing them for wool which is used to make sweaters.)
Paragraph 2:
Who did Daisy talk to in Zimbabwe? (An African elephant) How did the elephant feel? (The elephant felt excited.)
What did they talk about? (Elephants were becoming endangered because farmers used to hunt them for destroying their farms. But now the elephants are no longer killed by the farmers for that and the government helped the farmers make money from tourism.) Paragraph 34:
