Introduction:
Collocation is a crucial aspect of English language learning, especially in writing. Methodology:

Participants will be recruited from a local universitys English major program through convenience sampling. A total of 100 students will be selected to participate in the study. Participants will also be asked to provide two writing samples, an essay in their first year of study and an essay in their final year of study.
The writing samples will be analyzed for collocational usage, including the frequency and accuracy of collocations used. The data will be analyzed using both quantitative and qualitative methods to identify patterns and trends in collocational usage. The survey data will also be used to explore potential factors that may influence collocational proficiency, such as exposure to English media or language learning strategies.
Expected Results:
It is anticipated that the study will find a significant improvement in collocational usage between the first and final year of study.
