Step 1. Listening.
Pre-listening.
Before listening, the students should do some warming up exercises.
Ask the students to match the words in the box with the following questions. Eg. Which words can be used to describe a city?
Then ask the students to put the words into sentences again. It’s a good way to practise English.
Predition.
Read the sentences of Activity 2. And tick the statements which the Students think are true.
Listening.
Listen to the conversation and tick the topics in Activity 3. After listening for the first time, the students may have a general idea.
Listen again. Check the answers to Activity 2.
After listening.
Encourage the students to discuss the use of much, many, fewer, less. Then do exercise 2 on Page 17 to make sure they understand the usage.
