Unit1 Reading 优教教学设计(二)
设计意图
This text introduces a famous doctor John Snow in London, who defeated a most severe disease through scientific observation, research, analysis and conclusion. While reading, students can experience the thorough observation, brave and scientific research and devoted spirits of great scientists. By learning this text, students are required to know the orders of doing scientific research, which may help; in their own later life, learn from the devoted spirits and hard work of scientists which are major parts for their success in their study and research, and also appreciate great people’s characteristics and qualities.
教学目标
1. To help students to talk about science and contributions of scientists.
2. To help students to have a better understanding of the reading passage and learn to use some key words and expressions.
3. To help students to learn to organize a scientific research and appreciate great people’s characteristics and qualities.
教学重点
1. To enable students to use some key words and expressions freely and correctly.
2. To improve students’ reading skills.
教学难点
1. How to help students learn to analyze some long and difficult sentences.
2. How to enable students to write a good composition using some expressions in this period.
教学过程
Step 1: Lead-in
Activity: Match the scientist in the left column with his/her contributions in the right column.
(设计意图:通过连线题目,让学生回忆伟大的科学家及他们的贡献,引起学生的兴趣,引入本课话题。)
