* Homologous recombination during double-stranded break repair (DSBR) is essentially the same as during meiosis. All steps of strand invasion, D-loop formation and Holliday junction formation, as well as strand migration are equivalent. The main difference is the resolution of Holliday junctions at the end of the recombination. Because DSBR does not require crossing-over, resolution is much simpler.
