Title:StudyontherelationshipbetweenHPVandFHITininvertedpapillomaofthenasalcavity

Introduction:

Invertedpapillomaofthenasalcavityisabenigntumorthatarisesfromtherespiratoryepitheliumofthenasalcavityandparanasalsinuses.Itischaracterizedbythepresenceofglandularandpapillarystructuresthatgrowinaninvertedmannerintotheunderlyingstroma.Thepathogenesisofinvertedpapillomaisstillnotfullyunderstood,butitisbelievedtobeassociatedwithchronicinflammation,geneticalterations,andviralinfections.

Humanpapillomavirus(HPV)isawell-knownoncogenicvirusthathasbeenlinkedtoseveraltypesofhumancancers,includingcervical,anal,andoropharyngealcancers.SomestudieshavesuggestedthatHPVmayalsoplayaroleinthedevelopmentofnasalcavityandparanasalsinustumors,includinginvertedpapilloma.

TheFHITgeneisatumorsuppressorgenethatislocatedonchromosome3p14.2andisfrequentlyalteredinavarietyofhumancancers.IthasbeenreportedthattheFHITgeneisoftendeletedorsilencedininvertedpapilloma,whichmaysuggestitsinvolvementinthepathogenesisofthistumor.

Objective:

TheaimofthisstudyistoinvestigatetherelationshipbetweenHPVandFHITexpressionininvertedpapillomaofthenasalcavity.

Methods:

Thisstudywillbearetrospectiveanalysisofpatientsampleswithconfirmeddiagnosisofinvertedpapillomaofthenasalcavity.HPVstatuswillbedeterminedusingpolymerasechainreaction(PCR)andimmunohistochemistry(IHC)stainingforHPV-relatedproteins.FHITexpressionwillbeanalyzedusingIHCstaining.

ResultsandConclusion:

TheresultsofthisstudycouldprovideabetterunderstandingofthepathogenesisofinvertedpapillomaanditsrelationshipwithHPVandFHITgeneexpression.Thefindingsmayalsohaveimplicationsforthedevelopmentofnewdiagnosticandtherapeuticstrategiesforthisdisease.
