Abstract

Enterpriseengineeringdealswiththedesignofprocesseswhichaimtoimprove

thestructureandefficiencyofbusinessorganizations.Itdevelopsapproachesbased

onmodelingtechniques,particularlyonbusinessprocessmodeling,toensurethe

qualityandtheglobalconsistencyofenterprisestrategiesandexpectations.Nowadays,

riskconsiderationinenterpriseengineeringisagrowingconcernsincethebusiness

environmentisbecomingmoreandmorecompetitive,complex,andunpredictable.To

facethisconcern,aparadigmnamedrisk-awarebusinessprocessmanagement

(R-BPM)hasrecentlyemerged.Itseekstointegratethetwotraditionallyisolated

fieldsofriskmanagementandbusinessprocessmanagement.Despitethesignificant

benefitsthatcanarisefromtheuseofR-BPM,itsuffersfromalackofsolidscientific

foundationsanddedicatedtooling.Thispresentresearchworkcontributestobridging

thatgapinatwofoldway:(i)byestablishingtheBPRIMBusinessProcess-Risk

IntegratedMethodframework,and(ii)bydesigningadedicatedtool,

namedadoBPRIMwhichsupportstheefficientapplicationoftheBPRIMframework.

ThispaperfirstcomprehensivelypresentsthefoundationofBPRIMwhichisbasedon

threemaincomponentsand,secondly,itsdedicatedtooladoBPRIMwhichwas

designedusingtheADOxxmeta-modelingplatform.Anevaluationwitharealcase

studyinthehealthcaredomainshowstherelevanceofthemethodological

framework.
