Abstract

Thisreportsummarizestheprocessoftheescortinterpretingforthedelegationofthe

thth

ConfuciusInstituteatKathmanduUniversity(CIKU)fromMay16toMay262023.An

escortinterpretingenablestheinterpretertogainadeeperunderstandingoftheinterpreting

needsindifferentfieldsandscenarios,accumulatemorepracticalexperiences,provide

feedbackontheinterpreter’sperformance,andenhancetheinterpreter’spracticalability,thus

furtherimprovetheinterpreter’sinterpretingskills.

Thisreportexplorestheproblemsencounteredintheprocessofinterpretingand

proposessolutionsundertheguidanceoftheinterpretivetheory.Theinterpretivetheory

successfullyprovidesaneffectiveframeworkfortheinterpreter,whousesthethree

componentsoftheinterpretivetheory,namely,SourceLanguageUnderstanding,

DeverbalizationandInformationReexpression,todevelopanarrationofthewholeprocessof

theory-guidedpractice,ofwhichdeverbalizationisthecorepartoftheinterpretativetheory.

Thisinterpretativetheoryprovidesimportantguidancefortheinterpreter’spracticeandhelps

theinterpreterbettercopewiththechallengesintheprocessofinterpreting.Theinterpreter

explainsthebackgroundoftheinterpretingtaskandthecharacteristicsoftheescort

interpretingthroughtheintroductionofthetask.Theinterpretativetheoryemphasizesthe

understandingandcommunicationoflinguisticmeaningintheprocessofinterpreting,notjust

thesimpleconversionoflinguisticforms.Accuratelyconveyingtheculturalconnotationand

historicalbackgroundofthesourcelanguagewhilemaintainingfluencyposesasignificant

challengefortheinterpreter,andthepre-interpretingprepara
