若您脑海中浮现机器人参加公路赛跑、碾压人类的反乌托邦画面，至少目前无需多虑。上周六在中国举行的全球首场人形机器人半程马拉松中，二十余台双足机器人同场竞技。来自多家企业和高校的团队参与了这场赛事，既展示了中国在人形机器人技术领域的追赶态势，也是对该领域快速发展的生动诠释。冠军队负责人表示，虽然在此次比赛中机器人仍不敌人类，但其性能已可与西方同类产品比肩。这些形态各异的机器人慢跑穿越北京东南部，该区域云集了首都众多高科技企业。

Ina2023policydocument,China’sMinistryofIndustryandInformationTechnologyidentifiedthehumanoidroboticsindustryasa“newfrontierintechnologicalcompetition,”settinga2025targetformassproductionandsecuresupplychainsforcorecomponents.

Fearshavemountedinrecentyearsabouthowartificialintelligence–androbots–mayonedayoutsmarthumans.

AndwhileAImodelsarefastgainingground,sparkingconcernforeverythingfromsecuritytothefutureofwork,Saturday’sracesuggestedthathumansstillatleasthavetheupperhandwhenitcomestorunning.

Therobotswerepittedagainst12,000humancontestants,runningsidebysidewiththeminafenced-offlane.

Aftersettingofffromacountrypark,participatingrobotshadtoovercomeslightslopesandawinding21-kilometer(13-mile)circuitbeforetheycouldreachthefinishline,accordingtostate-runoutletBeijingDaily.

Justashumanrunnersneededtoreplenishthemselveswithwater,robotcontestantswereallowedtogetnewbatteriesduringtherace.Companieswerealsoallowedtoswaptheirandroidswithsubstituteswhentheycouldnolongercompete,thougheachsubstitutioncamewitha10-minutepenalty.
