bespeci?callyagreeduponbetweenpurchaserandsupplier.

1.3Theradiographicmethodishighlysensitivetovolumet-

ricdiscontinuitiesthatdisplaceadetectablevolumeofcast

material.Discontinuitiesthatdonotdisplaceanappreciable

volumeofmaterial,however,suchascracksorotherplanar-

typeindications,maynotbedetectedwithradiographyunless

theradiationbeamiscoincidentallyalignedwiththeplanar

orientationofthediscontinuity.Inviewofthislimitation,it

maybeconsideredappropriatetousetheradiographicmethod

inconjunctionwithadditionalnondestructivemethodsthat

maintainreliabledetectioncapabilitiesforthesetypesof

discontinuities.Theuseofadditionalmethodsshallbespeci?-

callyagreeduponbetweenthepurchaserandsupplier.
