ThisstandardisissuedunderthefixeddesignationF2011;thenumberimmediatelyfollowingthedesignationindicatestheyearoforiginaladoptionor,inthecaseofrevision,theyearoflastrevision.Anumberinparenthesesindicatestheyearoflastreapproval.Asuperscriptepsilon(e)indicatesaneditorialchangesincethelastrevisionorreapproval.

Scope

Thisspecificationrelatestothesafetyperformancespecificationsforcommerciallymanufacturedfun-kartsin-tendedforprivateuse,onsuitableoff-roadterrain,byconsum-ers.

Thisspecificationisintendedtoreducehazards,otherthanthoseinherentinthesportoffun-karting,totheusersoffun-kartsduringnormalintendedusebyspecifyingperfor-mancestandardsofmanufacturing.

Thisspecificationappliestofun-kartsforprivateuseanddoesnotapplytoconcession,race,home-made,consumer-modifiedfun-karts,fun-kartsthatarepedal-powered,unpow-eredfun-karts,orfun-karts,whichareusedforcommercialpurposes.

Thisspecificationrecognizesthatthereareoperationalhazardsrelatingtofun-karts,whichoperatorsandpassengersaredeemedtohaveacceptedbytheiruseandoperationofthefun-kartincluding,butnotlimitedto,fallingout,runninginto,through,underoroverobjects,upsettingthefun-kart,generaloperatorrecklessness,pinches,scratches,orbruises,oracombinationthereof.
