ThisstandardisissuedunderthefixeddesignationF2012;thenumberimmediatelyfollowingthedesignationindicatestheyearoforiginaladoptionor,inthecaseofrevision,theyearoflastrevision.Anumberinparenthesesindicatestheyearoflastreapproval.Asuperscriptepsilon(′)indicatesaneditorialchangesincethelastrevisionorreapproval.

Thisconsumersafetyperformancespecificationisintendedtomitigatepotentialsafetyhazardsassociatedwithachild’suseofastationaryactivitycenterandtherebyminimizetheriskofinjuryordeath.Thespecifichazardsaddressedbythisspecificationareseatstrengthtosupporttheoccupant,producttipover,openingsforfingerentrapmentandsmallparts.

Scope

Thisconsumersafetyperformancespecificationcoversperformancerequirements,testmethodsandmarkingrequire-mentstopromotesafeuseofastationaryactivitycenterbyanoccupant.

Thisconsumersafetyperformancespecificationisin-tendedtominimizetheriskofincidentstoanoccupantresultingfromnormaluseandreasonablyforeseeablemisuseorabuseofastationaryactivitycenter.

Nostationaryactivitycenterproducedaftertheapprovaldateofthisconsumersafetyperformancespecificationshall,eitherbylabelorothermeans,indicatecompliancewiththisspecificationunlessitconformstoallrequirementscontainedherein.
