In China, language learning mainly happens in class, where teachers always play the leading roles in all classroom activities. Teachers usually pay enough attention to their verbal language in class. But besides verbal language, teachers also employ body language communicating with students consciously or unconsciously. Body language is also named silent language, nonverbal language and so on, which is a systematic means of communicating ideas or feelings through eye contact, gestures, facial expressions postures, body movements, voice inflections, messages via objects, time messages and so on. The use of body language is completely up to the standard of audio-visual teaching principle, so teachers should try to teach in English from the beginning to the end, together with the corresponding body language, the efficiency of learning English will be greatly improved.Before the 1950’s, people had paid attention to the body language, but the deep-dyed research did after 1950’s. The first country is the USA. Because of the influence of the expert named R.Birwhistell, the teachers’ body language had gained more and more attention. The seedtime of teachers’ body language was in the 1970’s. In the 1980’s, Edward. T. Hall researched the relationship between the body language and the teaching from the psychology. From the 1950’s experts in our country began to investigate the body language instead of introducing to the bookmaking. According to the American latest research, More than 90% massage spread by the tone and the facial expression?,in other words by the body language in the aspect of emotional and attitudinal communication.
