Doing business across-border needs to adapt effectively to different cultures and such adaptation requires an understanding of cultural diversity, stereotypes, values and beliefs. In this thesis, I seek to find out some effective way to tackle this challenge by introducing the concept of culture in the regard of business world; describing the cultural differences in four dimensions and how those varieties affect people’s approach to business; enumerating two cultural myths, as well as providing a general framework for managers to understand some cultural differences that they may encounter when they are doing business in Asia and in one European country, France.
