Development of NATURAL PHOTO SYSTEM

Abstruct
NATURAL PHOTO SYSTEM (NP System) is a newly developed system that enables high quality non-
flash photos. A 135-format film camera “NATURA S”, and an ISO 1600 color negative film “NATURA
1600” are the first products for NP System, and are available from October 2004 in Japan.
NP System maximized the high-sensitivity, fine grain and wide exposure latitude of the silver halide
film. The combination of ISO 1600 35mm film, the newly developed compact camera with a F1.9 lens and a
unique exposure program that controls exposure level to the over exposure depending on the light value,
makes it possible to take high quality pictures without flash.
Using this system, users can take photos under available light conditions such as in museums where flash
firing is prohibited, a restaurant with an atmospheric nighttime view where firing flash annoys other people
around. The resulting photos are of natural appearance, faithfully reproducing the atmosphere of the scene.
