ABSTRACT ABSTRACT Nowadays ，leisure has been one of the most important characteristics of the epoch, and one of the most important parts of the urban residents’ daily life, as well as the symbol of the social civilization’s advancement. According to the forecast of the foreign scholars, about 2015, the developed countries will come into “the Age of Leisure” one after another and the developing countries will be at their heels. Leisure will replace IT as the most important engine to push growth of the global economy. Today, the Chinese urban residents have already got 114 legal holidays in a year, which means one third of the urban residents will be spent in leisure. So it’s very important to pay high attention to the leisure behaviors of the urban residents both on theory and practice, as well as policy making. Meanwhile, the study on leisure behaviors is one of the basic ways to get a better knowing of the developing degree of the Chinese urban residents’ leisure life. The study will provide some market evidences to support the city of Shenyang to develop the leisure industry, and also as a reference to the similar cities in China. Based on the investigation of the location, economy and culture of Shenyang, the study analyzes the basic structure of the urban residents’ behaviors, including the four key questions of companions selecting, ways selecting, place selecting and time distributing in leisure activities. At the same time, the study also compares and analyzes the leisure behaviors of different resident group and has a deep discussion about the relevant influence factors, through which the study discloses
