M eth ods Fourteen cases ( 7 CD and 7 UC) received intravenous Rem icade infusions on the protocol of 5 mg/kg, 0, 2, 6 w eeks and then every 8w eeks. The evaluation of effects based on the Ch inese GastroenterologicalAssociation IBD group Consensus. Before and after the therapy, E R and CRP w ere recorded in the patientsw ith rem issive and active phase of diseases. Results In 7 cases ofCD patients, 4 patients achieved rem ission, 3 patients mi proved, 2 casesw asmucosal healing. In 7 cases ofUC patients, 3 patients achieved rem ission, 4 patients mi proved, one casew as mucosal healing. In all the 14 patients, the patientswho had rapid disappearance of symptoms after the therapy may get discovery ofmu cosal lesion. The CD patientsw ithout any comp lications had the best result by R em icade. Adm in istration of Rem icade after intestinal resective surgery w as effective at preventing recurrence of CD. Only 1 case appeared hypersensitivity. Conclusion Rem icade has smi ilar better effects on intractable CD and UC. Key words Crohn! s disease; U lcerative coli
