ABSTRACT
IsatisindigoticaFortune(Cruciferae)belongedtoIsatisgenusis
abiennialherbaceousplantdistributedwidelyinChina.Sofar,itsroot
hasbeenstudiedlargely,butfewstudieswerereportedforitsleafon
thechemistryandpharmacology.
OurstudyhaschoosedtheleafofIsatisindigoticaFort.(known
asFoliumIsatidis)asexperimentmaterial,andfocusedonthe
chemicalconstituentsandbiologicalactivity.Wehavepreparedfive
chemicalfractionsfromtheethanolextracts.Chemicalinvestigationof
thefractionshasledtotheisolationoftwelvecompoundsbyrepeated
silicagelcolumnchromatography,andchemicalstructuresforfourof
themwereidentifiedbasisonUV,IR,MS,HNMR,CNMRand
H-HCOSYspectraanalysisasH-sitosterol(11)，indirubin(111),
tryptanthrin(V)，L-pyroglutamicacid(IX)respectively.The
compounds1IandVarefirstisolatedfromthisplantandIXis
firstdiscoveredfromtheIsatisgenus.Inthecourseofthespectra
analysis,wehavefirstelucidatedandassignedthespectradataofIll,
VandIX.Structuresoftherestcompoundsarestillintheprogress
oftheanalysis.
Inourstudiesofbiologicalactivityforthefractions,wehave
carried through theelementary pharmacologytest,using the
technologyofpharmacologyofserumwithChinesedurgsandcell
cultivation.Withthetechnologyofpharmacologyofserumwith
Chinesedurgsandthekineticchromogenicassayofbacterial
endotoxinstest,wehaveconfirmedtheactivityofthisplantatier

aureusandBacillus
