Abstract Thestudywasconductedtothoroughlyresearchonthereproductioncharactersandtechnologiesof seedproductionofzoysiagrass(ZoysiajaponicaStoud.)inJiaozhou,Shandongprovincefrom2001to 2003.Theresultsindicatedthat: l.Thelowtemperatureandsunlightduring15-40daysbeforeheadingwerefacilitatedtodifferentiation anddevelopmentofspikelets沪 0.89).Andtheseedsettingpercentage,seedsperspikeofzoysiagrass andtheaccumulatedtemperaturesandsunlighthoursduring5daysbeforeheadingand15daysafter headingwaspositivecorrelationandsignificantlydifferent.Butthethousandseedweight(TSW)of zoysaigrassandaccumulatedtemperatureswasnegativecorrelation,howeverTSWandsunlighthours waspositivecorrelation(r=0.9466).Theinterplayofsunlightandtemperatureduring10-20daysafter headingwassensitivetoTSWofzoysiagrass(户0.90). 2.Theseedproductionofzoysiagrasswascontrolledbylastyearrainfalls,rainfallsandsunlighthours fromMarchtoJuneinnaturalcondition.Therefore,theseedproductionwillbepredictaccordingto thoseclimatedata. 3.Thefertiletillersofzoysiagrassemergedrfomshortshootsafterfruit.Thefertiletillersof93.0%in seedingplotswereemergedfromstolons,andthatof70-80%intransplantplotswereemergedfrom rhizomes.Theageoftillersofzoysiagrasswasmainlyoneyearold,andthetillersofoneyearoldin seedingandtransplantplotswere92.65%and96.78%inalltillers,respectively.Theirtillersoftwoyear oldwere6.75%and2.81%inalltillers,respectively. 4.Thetillersintransplantplotswereheavierthaninseedingplots,buttheweightoffertiletillerswere reversetoitstillers(P0.01).Inreproductionallocationthespikewastheheaviest,whichdryweight wasabout50mg.Thesecondwasleafandstem.Thespikefromstolonwas57.63%in.reproduction allocationofweight.Itsproportionwasslightlysmallerthanthatofthespikefromrhizome.The proportionsoftheirstemsandleafswereabout9.0%and30.0%,respectively. 5.Thehigherseedyieldofzoysiagrasswasobtainedinthethirdyearafterestablishedbytransplanting andseeding.Theirseedyieldswereo
