A review，including the major domestic and foreign research methods in this field，was made，based on the summary of many reports，and some of the details in the research process，such as the selection of subjects， as well as effects of the experimental method for testing the sample processing，and ultimately to determine the effect of composition and other issues are analyzed and explained. As science and technology advances， the effective compounds of Chinese herbal formula research will have more new methods，new technologies inevitably，to resolve the current problem which is not yet solved.
