M ethod s: Three k inds o f fluo ride toothp astes, con tain ing N aF, N aM FP and N aF-N aM FP w ere m easured o f fluoride concentration s resp ective ly by u sing ion chrom atog raphy ( IC) and fluo ride se lective e lectrode ( FSE ) w h ich is recomm ended by the Ch inese Standard for T oo thp aste( GB 837 2-2001) . P rec-i sion and recovery ra te o f the tw o m e thods w ere eva lu ated. 9 tubes daily used fluor ide too thp astes w ere m easured by IC to eva lu ate the disturbance o f other ion s in the too thpaste. R esu lts: T he re w as no statistically s ignif icant differ- ence in prec ision deg ree of the tw o m e thods ( P 0. 05) . T he recovery rate o f F- m easured by IC and by FSE h ad 2 - no sign if icant difference ( 1. 00 v. s. 0. 99 P 0. 05) but the recovery ra te o f M FP by IC and by FSE w as sta- tistica lly diffe rent ( 1. 00 v. s. 1. 08 P 0. 05) .
