The author holds that there are generrally two negative usages of / Bu0: the judge ent negation and the narrativenegation. The for er expresses general and unspecific ti e, while the latter expresses re- stricted and specific ti e. Therefore, / Bu0and/ Meiyou0 often for co ple entary pair. The usages of the narrativenegation about / Bu0 include two respects: 1./ Bu0 negates the absolute sentence that will be done; 2. / Bu0 negates the post-ti e sentence in relative tense. The negative functions of / Meiyou0 include absolute tense and relative tense. In the sentence of relative tense, / Meiyou0 ay negate the pre-ti esentencethat have been doneor will be done. / Bu0and/ Meiyou0 both possess ob- vious ti e features.
