M ethods: The patients tallied with the study standard were divided into phlegm(n = 48) and non- phlegm syndrome group(n = 20) according to TCM syndrome differentiation. The levelof serum C P was detected and the National Institute ofHealth Stroke Scale ofUSA( NIHSS) was applied to evaluate the neurological mi pair- ment in the patients. R esults: The levelof serum C P and the score ofN IHSS in the phlegm syndrome group were higher signif-i cantly than those in the non-phlegm syndrome group(P 0105). The score ofphlegm syndromewas correlated to the level of ser- um C P(r = 01427,P 0105) . Conclusion: The score ofphlegm syndrome in patientsw ith acute ischem ic stroke is closely related to the levelof serum C P and C P may become the mi portant index ofphlegm syndrome.
