Af ter its completion and putting into operation ,the airport will exert notable and great impacts on the environment of its surroundings. Therefore ,it is very important and extremely neces sary to make a sound and reasonable land use planning of the region around the airport and to assess and forecast the impacts. 2 The main contents of land use planning for Lukou Airport include both the impacts of the airport on its surroundings and the impacts of the surrounding area on the airport after the completion of the airport . The focus of the land use planning should be on height restriction of the buildings ,control of the noise from aircraft
