Methods The clinical and MRI data of 47 patients with metastatic meningeal carcinomatosis confirmed clinically were analyzed retrospectively. Results Duramater thicken(n=8) and meningeal nodes(n=4) appeared on plain MR. After admin- istration of Gd-DTPA, the abnormal meningeal enhancement were seen at pia-subarach- noid space 28 cases, at dura-arachnoid 15 cases and both sites 4 cases. It presented local meningeal enhancement 27 cases and diffuse enhancement 20 金志发 左克扬 cases according to the range of enhanced meninges. The indirect signs including intracra- nial metastatic tumor(n= 12), hydrocephalus(n=5), cranial bones metastasis(n=7), sub- dural effusion(n=2).
