School of Business Management ，Dalian University of Technology ，Dalian 116000 ，China） Abstract:The leader plays an increasingly important role in organizational development and is becoming the essen⁃ tial element to build organization ’s core competitiveness ，and the leader ’s core competencies also have a significant impact on organizational performance. The paper ，based on the review and summary of the existing research ，de⁃ fines the concept and composition of the leader ’s core competencies ，and explores the relationship between the lead⁃ er ’s core competencies and organizational performance in an empirical way.
