Abstract: Hyd oxy fluo apatite ( FHA ) w as p epa ed by the w et chem ical m ethod. T he effect of fluo ine
substitution on the st uctu e and the m a l stab ility w as studied. The elation bewt een com posites and
the m a l stab ility of apat ite coating in the p esence of alum ina ox ide subst ate w as invest igated. T he phase
com posit ion and the change of c ysta l lattice pa am e te s w e e cha acte ized by Xay diff action and
Fou ie t ansfo m in f a ed spect oscopy, espective ly. The esu lts show that c ystal lattice pa am ete s and
bond ene gy m ake changes by inco po a tion of F in the st uctu e. Decom posit ion m echan ism of HA and
FHA in the alum ina ox idehyd oxyapaptite system is fo mu lated.
