Lesson 2 Lesson 2 Mould for Threaded Components Mould for Threaded Components 　　It is frequently necessary to design a mould for a component which incorporates a thread. A thread is a form of undercut which normally increases the intricacy of the design. 　　The extent of complication varies and it is dependent on a number of factors, namely: 　　(i) type of thread: internal, external, continuous or discontinuous; (ii) method: thread form molded or incorporated by the use of a metal insert; (iii) type of production
